Just 15 minutes from the centre of the city of Spoleto in Umbria, there is a small mountain hamlet at 710 metres above sea level with a magnificent view of the city of Spoleto in the valley. The area, rich in the famous and prized Umbrian black truffle that grows in symbiosis with the oaks in the forest, is of rare scenic beauty. At the end of the 1970s, the hamlet suffered the same fate as many other similar Umbrian hamlets, being completely abandoned, until in 1991 Adriana Benedetti, a real estate broker specialising in the sale of prestigious and historic properties, and passionate about the restoration of rural houses, bought what was then the only property actually for sale, consisting of the hamlet’s old warehouses and barn.
